As a Newborn Care Specialist, you fulfill a very special role in homes: you are a “baby whisperer” who provides expert care and developmental support in the precious first weeks and months. You are the essential professional who helps families comfortably transition into parenthood.
Our approach seeks to match you with families where values and care styles align. At this precious and intimate time, they seek support and understanding from professionals who can offer guidance and knowledge, while setting them up to be confident and successful parents.
We know you’re great at what you do and have many choices on how to manage your career. Here are some of the reasons New York City’s savviest nannies choose Nannies by Noa:
Nannies by Noa specializes in personalized placements and we pride ourselves in attracting the best families in the region. Our approach ensures that you are not only comfortable in your Newborn Care Specialist role but fully integrated within your family as a trusted and respected team member.
Share your experience, training, and certifications, and also let us know about the opportunities you are looking for – now is a great time to tell us about your dream family and job.
This is a chance for us to get acquainted and find out if we could be a great match. We want to learn more about you, including your qualifications and background information.
Tell us firsthand who you are as a caregiver and the position you will thrive in. Ask questions and learn about the value of joining our network for your next NCS search.
Referring NCS to families is a big responsibility that we take seriously. Learning about your caregiving approach helps us understand what strengths and special gifts you offer.
Acceptance is reserved for the most capable, compassionate, and qualified applicants. Newborn Care is the most intimate role and requires an understanding of family dynamics and discretion like no other. Do you have what it takes?
On average, only the top 2% of applicants are accepted into our network. That means our newborn care specialists are the most qualified and well-vetted childcare professionals in the New York and Tri-State area. Our assessment process extends far beyond the typical background check because we believe that it’s more than years on the job that makes you a standout professional!
*We reserve the right to discontinue an application at any time and an interview does not guarantee an invitation into our network of nannies.
Our matchmaking works because we consider the needs of all parties involved. Our clients understand the tremendous rewards of hiring a skilled Newborn Care Specialist to guide their child’s formative months. We want to get to know you too, so we can not only accurately convey the skills you offer, but so that we understand with which family dynamic you’ll thrive and feel the greatest reward.
Our NCS must adhere not only to our standards but also to the recommended practices set by the International Nanny Association (INA) the umbrella organization of the in-home childcare industry.
Please see the INA’s ‘Standards of care for all applicants’.
Our client families are predominantly based in NYC and the surrounding Tri-State areas.
NCS are the exception and may apply from outside our service area for opportunities seeking ‘24’s’ (round the clock coverage). Many NYC families have limited space to house those from out of state when seeking 12 hr. day or night shifts, in which instance, NCS candidates with their own local housing generally offer the most appeal.
Rates vary based on experience and education. Currently, we see hourly rates between
$40-$50+ for skilled and trained NCS.
There are many reasons why we’re unable to proceed with an application. A variety of factors are considered such as a candidate’s location, availability, prior experience, longevity, reference quality, and compensation hopes. Professionalism is assessed throughout our process, and we reserve the right to discontinue representation at any time throughout the application process and beyond. Only a small percentage of applicants are accepted into our network for these and other reasons. We do not share references with you or disclose any information provided by your former employees with you.
While this is great experience, we seek career-minded nannies with a desire to work in the field long-term and who have previously provided a full spectrum of private in-home care with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Applicants must have references that speak to a broad knowledge of child development and experience with related tasks such as children’s housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry.
Congratulations on continuing your education. Knowledge of best practices is critical in the role of an NCS. Of course, your hands-on experience is equally important; therefore, we seek a minimum of 3000 hours or 3 years of cumulative experience with newborns for representation.
Our vetting process requires speaking with a minimum of three prior employers in recent NCS positions. Supporting letters of recommendation are wonderful and we encourage you to include them in your profile.
We strongly advocate for legal pay for all Childcare professionals. Our client families agree to adhere to all state & local tax and labor laws. To learn why legal pay matters and the benefits it provides you, click here.
Dynamic opportunities, each as unique and diverse as the people needed to fill them.
